Our new Open Door service is an opportunity to provide a new ‘all age’ family friendly service at St. John’s that is accessible and manageable for young families and folk who have little experience of church life.

St John's Church

The service 'OPEN DOOR' will be held on the third Sunday of the month at 11am at St. John's Church - It is a short family friendly service (1/2 hour) which begins with light refreshments and a starter activity. The service is a run by a special team. The service is intended to appeal to all ages and we hope that there is something for everyone.

The themes are:

18th September - 'A New Beginning'
16th October - 'A New Life'
20th November - 'A New Way'
18th December - 'A New Christmas'

What will 'Open Door" be like?

It will last 30 minutes. - All ages will be involved in the service

Each service will have a theme

There will be no hymn books or service books – it will be hands-free - The worship will be ordered by ‘PowerPoint’ projection.

Prayers or responses may be modern or traditional.

Songs will vary – some traditional hymns / some lively choruses / some music simply to listen

There will be a Bible reading

There will be a short interactive talk or activity response to the word.

Coffee and tea will be served before the service at the back of church

Everyone is welcome to join us at 'OPEN DOOR' at St. John's. Please conact Rev Graham H. Saunders 01753 643233 for more information.
